Learning Goal

My interest in neuroscience was inspired by taking initiative, and self-studying

psychology and introductory neuroscience courses online. At the same time, I gained

empathy for special needs children by developing an interpersonal connection with the

children at the center I am volunteering at. At the current stage, due to my fondness

with the special needs center, my interest is relevant today on a local basis. I hope that

with my enthusiasm and passion for finding ways to help families and their special

needs child/children, I could impact the special needs community, and if possible, reach

special needs children beyond Thailand. In order to learn above the neuroscience of

language processing within autistic children, I have to create an app that can help

autistic children better communicate with those around them, and vice versa.

Speechspark is an easy-to-use, intuitive app for school-aged ASD children with language production disabilities in particular. SpeechSpark is built upon the backbone of PECS (flashcard system) and theories within psycholinguistics and neuroscience. Through Speechspark, a child is able to communicate with others through non-verbal forms. Whilst, Speech Spark offers a learning tool to develop a child's language production abilities, as well. Speechspark's mission is

to make communication and education accessible to all members of theThai ASD community, regardless of social status or demographic.v
